SOL 18 es una mezcla de ritmos latinos y elementos culturales. El Sol, representa el propósito de su música. Alcanzar audiencias de todas razas, idiomas, edades o preferencias musicales, como los rayos del Sol. El proyecto SOL 18 fue iniciado el día 18 del mes por Jose Tejada, he de aquí el significado del número 18.
Los miembros de la banda vienen de diferentes partes de América Latina, llevando con ellos lo mejor de sus raices, experiencias y diversidad musical; esencialmente unidos por la misma “Sangre Latina”. Esta ecléptica mezcla les provee con un sonido único, facilitándoles expresar sus herencias y creencias culturales a travez de su música.
Su música es definida como “Sonido Urbano Latino”, haciendo que esta banda refleje “La Voz Del Pueblo”.
Los miembros de la banda incluyen: Leonel Tejada – Vocalista/Segunda Guitarra.
Nació en Santiago De Los Caballeros, República Dominicana.
Creció con el sonido de la Bachata, Perico Ripiao y Pop/Rock
Edward Cárdenas – Batería/Segunda Voz   Nació en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana.
Creció con las inspiraciones musicales de la iglesia y los sabrosos sonidos del barrio. Estas influencias incluyen: Merengue, Salsa, Son, Pop/Rock.
James Torres – Primera Guitarra
Nació en Yauco, Puerto Rico, “La Isla Del Encanto”.
Creció con la música típica, en los estilos de Plena y Salsa. De todos modos, al ser un joven guitarrista, se encontró más atraido por el Rock.     Henry López – Bajo  Nació en Guatemala, de todos modos, creció en los Estados Unidos de América.     Inspirado por los sonidos de: Balada/Pop, Salsa, Hip Hop, Pop/Rock y Rock Latino.

Sol 18 creates music that generates a myriad of sounds by infusing a blend of Latin rhythms and cultural elements .

Sol (sun), represents the purpose of their music: to reach audiences of all races, languages, ages and music preferences like rays from the bright sun. The Sol 18 project was initiated on the 18th day of the month by Jose Tejada, hence the significance of the number 18.

The band members come from various parts of Latin America, bringing with them the best of their roots, experiences and diverse musical backgrounds; essentially, uniting them by the same “Sangre Latina”.

(Latin Blood). This eclectic mix provides them with a unique sound enabling them to express their cultural heritages and beliefs through their music. Their music is often defined as “Urban Latin Sound” making this band reflect the people’s voice, “La Voz Del Pueblo”.

Vocals/Rhythm Guitar: – Born in Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic
- Grew up with the sounds of Bachata, Perico Ripiao and Pop/Rock.
Edward Cardenas- Drums/Vocals – Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
- Grew up with the musical inspirations from his church and the flavorful
sounds of the neighborhood, “el barrio”. These influences include:
Merengue, Salsa, Son, Pop/Rock.
James Torres- Lead Guitar;    Born in Yauco, Puerto Rico “La Isla Del Encanto”
- Grew up with the typical musical styles of Plena and Salsa; however, as
a young guitarist, found himself drawn to Rock.
Henry Lopez- Bass:  Born in Guatemala; however, grew up in the United States
- Inspired by the sounds of: Balada/Pop, Salsa, Hip Hop, Pop/Rock
